La Maison Française opened on 3 July 2026, out of a very concrete problem: a Frenchman living in Santiago could not find his own home cooking anywhere.
The owner came to Santiago de los Caballeros for work. And like anyone who moves far from home, sooner or later he missed the ordinary things: a beef bourguignon that has spent hours on the stove, a gratinated onion soup, an œuf en cocotte, a tarte Tatin. In Santiago, he could not find them.
The simplest solution turned out to be the biggest one: open the restaurant himself. Not to impress anyone — so that he could eat properly.
Everything else follows from that. The menu is short because these are the dishes someone actually wants to eat. The wines and champagnes are all French, without exception. And the prices are final: what you read on the card is what you pay, ITBIS and service already included.
This is not a special-occasion restaurant. It is a French house in Santiago, open on a Wednesday lunchtime too.
